The 2.0 liter R4 turbo engine (M260.920) in the Mercedes AMG models deserves only the best when it comes to cooling capacity and performance. That's why we replaced the indirect intercooler circuit with the innovative WagnerTuning high-performance intercooler to offer you the ultimate driving experience.
With the new performance cooling network and dimensions of 287 mm x 185 mm x 115 mm, WagnerTuning has developed a high-performance intercooler that is specifically tailored to the high requirements of the AMG engine. Compared to the original cooler, it offers an impressive 154% more external mesh volume, ensuring maximum heat transfer and optimal internal airflow. The cast aluminum end boxes have been optimized using CAD technology and CFD simulations to ensure excellent cooling performance with minimal back pressure. This set is therefore also perfect for racing, where optimal cooling of the charged air is crucial and leads to a noticeable increase in performance. The WagnerTuning intercoolers are equipped with a heat-conducting anti-corrosion coating, which ensures lasting cooling and a long service life of the cooler. Installing the system is simple and straightforward thanks to the detailed installation instructions (video) – a true plug & play experience.
Please note that you can only install the intercooler kit in combination with the optimized air intake system from WagnerTuning. The original air intake system must be completely removed as the intercooler will be mounted there. The optimized air intake system from WagnerTuning is installed in the right wheel arch, which enables short intake paths without large deflections. This system also includes a specially developed open sports air filter that provides maximum filter performance with minimal back pressure. With a connection diameter of Ø76 mm in the direction of the turbocharger, which is adapted to the original turbocharger connection using a silicone hose, the air mass flow increases impressively by +50%. This improves the response of the engine and leads to a direct increase in performance.
