ACT's Race discs are made with high quality, ceramic friction materials. The chrome-moly hub is heat-treated for strength and durability. The lightweight, rigid design allows for quicker shifts and smooth, trouble-free service. With the 4-pad rigid race disc, engagement is harsher, but shifting is faster. Available in solid or spring centered, the race discs will reduce driveline shock and spline wear due to torsional dampeners.
Spring Centered
|
- Most popular
- Reduced driveline shock and spline wear due to torsional dampeners
- Quieter operation by reducing torsional vibrations
- Choose 6-pads for better heat capacity and better engagement
- Choose 4-pads for the quickest shifting

Rigid-Hub
|
- Increased gear noise and increased spline wear is expected
- Improved durability because of stronger hub components
- Choose 6-pads for better heat capacity and better engagement
- Choose 4-pads for the quickest shifting |

ACT Race disc Key Features
- Premium ceramic friction materials provides high-treat tolerance, high coefficient of friction and low wear rates.
- All friction pads are measured, sorted and matched before assembly to ensure that each disc is uniform in thickness.
- Carefully broached splines to ensure exact fir onto the transmission input shaft for long spline life and better clutch release.
- ACT provides thicker retainer stampings for increased strength and reliability.
- Top grade rivets are used to securely fasten the part together. Rivet design and rivet materials are carefully selected for maximum strength.
- ACT springs retainers feature wraparound spring windows that provide support and reduce stress concentrations, which are common causes of failure.
- Heavy duty torsional dampening springs are stronger in most cases than standard springs and are provided in the best sizes and spring rates to suit the application.
- All drive plates consist of high-carbon spring steel that is heat-treated and black zinc-plated to resist bending, cracking, fatiguing and rusting, even under severe racing conditions.
- Precision stampings for disc components are manufactured using dedicated tooling. This allows ACT to offer the highest in quality and consistency.
- Most spring-centered assemblies use bushings and cone springs to create frictional dampening, which reduces noise and extends clutch life.
- All race disc are certified as meeting SFI Specification 1.1 and are legal in all racing organizations that require SFI certification.
This is a 6-pad spring-centered race disc made with high quality, ceramic friction materials. The engagement is harsher, but shifting is faster. The heavy duty torsional dampening springs are stronger, in most cases, than standard springs and are provided in the best sizes and spring rates to suit the application. The 6-pad, spring-centered disc is recommended for larger clutch sizes to absorb more heat and for smoother engagement.
Feel:
Aggressive engagement, quick shifts, mild to moderate gear rattle.
Life:
Premium ceramic friction materials provide moderate wear rates and high heat tolerance.
Quality:
Utilizes wraparound spring windows, thicker retainer stampings and a heat-treated, spring steel drive plate to provide support, reduce stress concentrations and increase strength and reliability.
Recommendation:
Recommended for high horsepower street and race use.
Difference:
High burst strength and holds 28% more torque than typical organic materials.
